Become a Senior Data Governance Executive in our dynamic team!
We are looking for a highly organised, collaborative Senior Data Governance Executive who will assist the Data Governance Lead with strengthening, advancing, and embedding effective data governance throughout the organisation.
What will the role involve?
The appointed candidate will contribute significantly to the daily coordination of governance work. This includes helping implement governance frameworks, data-quality initiatives, stewardship practices, metadata management, and compliance obligations. In close partnership with business stakeholders, data owners, technology teams, and project-delivery functions, the Senior Data Governance Executive will support the management of data as a reliable enterprise asset.
Accountabilities and Deliverables:
Governance Framework Delivery
- Help the Data Governance Lead extend and sustain the enterprise Data Governance Framework.
- Turn the governance framework into usable processes, standards, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining governance policies and controls.
- Organise governance work across business functions.
- Track compliance with governance standards and raise risks when necessary.
Data Stewardship & Ownership
- Assist in establishing and continually managing Data Owner and Data Steward frameworks and communities.
- Coordinate stewardship meetings and governance forums.
- Make sure that roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities remain clearly established and maintained.
- Encourage organisation-wide use of governance practices.
Data Quality Management
- Create data-quality initiatives, processes, and metrics through an ‘Automation and AI First’ approach.
- Set up, develop, and oversee autonomous Quality KPIs and controls.
- Help investigate and resolve data-quality problems.
- Determine underlying causes and introduce corrective measures.
- Prepare recurring data-quality reports for governance stakeholders.
Metadata & Data Catalogue Management
- Support the creation and upkeep of enterprise metadata and business glossary capabilities.
- Ensure that critical data assets are recorded and catalogued.
- Partner with business and technical teams to improve visibility of data lineage.
- Promote uptake of data-governance tools and processes.
Governance Reporting & Management Information
- Build dashboards and reports for governance, compliance, and data-quality metrics.
- Monitor governance actions, risks, issues, and decisions.
- Prepare documentation for Data Governance Committees and Leadership Forums.
- Assist with executive updates prepared for senior management.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Help with GDPR compliance work and data-protection requirements.
- Assist with audit, risk, and assurance assessments.
- Maintain governance documentation, policies, and evidence needed for regulatory purposes.
- Collaborate with the Data Governance Lead and Security, Compliance, and Legal teams on governance obligations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Establish effective working relationships across business and technology teams.
- Provide governance-awareness and training sessions.
- Help the organisation adopt governance processes and controls.
- Serve as a dependable governance adviser on projects and change initiatives.

- Experience coordinating numerous stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data-protection regulations.
- Experience creating governance reporting and management information.
