The role

The Compliance Specialist Support helps the Operations Department keep every property aligned with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The position supports compliance processes, preserves precise records, arranges inspections, follows deadlines, and assists with regulatory submissions for residential and mixed-use properties.

Managing residential and mixed-use real estate in multiple US jurisdictions requires navigating housing codes, agency submissions, inspection schedules, and renewal due dates. A missed filing may result in a building closure, fines, lawsuits, or lost subsidy income. This role focuses on identifying issues early, maintaining orderly documentation, and ensuring the operations team does not cause a property to lose compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep compliance records organized, including licenses, permits, certifications, inspection reports, and communications with regulators.
• Monitor regulatory due dates, renewals, and portfolio filing obligations, identifying risks before they escalate.
• Arrange housing, fire-safety, environmental, and HQS property inspections with agencies, vendors, and on-site teams.
• Help prepare and file regulatory documentation with federal, state, and local bodies.
• Follow developments in housing and property regulations and communicate their effects to the Operations team.
