Role Overview
The company is looking to add a driven and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to its expanding Commercial Team. The person appointed will oversee commercial and contractual matters across several projects, with responsibility for cost management, contract administration, forecasting, and reporting during all stages of project delivery.
This position calls for someone proactive who can maintain effective relationships with project teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors while making sure commercial targets and contractual duties are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the commercial and contractual elements of assigned projects from the start through final completion.
- Offer commercial advice and support to project delivery teams.
- Help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations.
- Draft and submit contractual notices, formal communications, and payment applications.
- Prepare internal cash flow projections, cost reports, and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage subcontract agreements and supplier contracts.
- Track project costs and keep commercial records accurate and up to date.
- Identify, evaluate, and handle compensation events, variations, and claims when relevant.
- Communicate regularly with clients, project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to sustain strong working relationships.
- Assist the Commercial Manager with resolving commercial matters and controlling project risks.
- Keep contract records organised and ensure all commercial documentation is properly filed and maintained.
- Provide weekly cost control reports covering project costs, progress information, and forecasts.

- Familiarity with NEC contracts and construction-related commercial practices is considered an advantage.
