Virtus Lending LLC is a Non-Banking Financial Institution (NBFI) authorized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo. The company provides cash loans and financial leasing for the purchase of used vehicles, without limitations regarding make, model, or year of production. To support the growth of its activity in the car financing sector, the company is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of AML / Compliance Officer.

AML / Compliance Officer

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Draft and revise internal policies and procedures.
• Carry out regular reviews and updates of these policies so they stay aligned with changing legal requirements and best practices.
• Oversee the implementation of AML and CTF policies across all departments.
• Prepare regular and timely reports for regulatory institutions such as the CBK and FIU.
• Establish internal reporting systems to keep management updated on compliance activities and audit findings.
• Continuously evaluate the organization’s exposure to money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
• Design and apply measures to reduce the risks that are identified.
• Classify clients according to their risk profile through a structured process that combines automated tools with manual assessment.
• Apply enhanced due diligence measures for high-risk clients in order to reduce the possibility of illicit activity.
• Monitor and review day-to-day transactions to detect unusual or potentially suspicious activity.
• Examine and address alerts connected with suspicious transactions.
• Screen both new and existing clients to identify PEPs by using updated databases and intelligence reports.
• Manage relationships with PEPs while ensuring enhanced monitoring and reporting in line with AML and CTF policies.
• Deliver training for staff.

Required Competencies

• A bachelor's or higher degree in Economics, Law, or related fields.
• Coursework or certifications in financial regulations, corporate law, ethical business practices, risk management, or compliance would be considered an advantage.
• At least 3-5 years of professional experience in AML and CTF within financial institutions, particularly in compliance, risk assessment, or similar areas.
• Involvement in projects related to implementing or revising AML/CTF policies, auditing financial practices, or working with regulatory bodies would be an advantage.
• Strong ability to provide clear and effective presentations to different stakeholders, including senior management.
• Proven capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting and to lead cross-functional teams when needed.
• Ability to adjust to evolving regulatory environments and respond quickly to emerging compliance matters.
• Skill in analyzing complex data sets to identify patterns that may signal money laundering or terrorist financing risks.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication in an international business environment.
• Certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) would be highly preferred.
