Role Description

The Artificial Intelligence Researcher will design, develop, and evaluate AI models and algorithms that support Unita Worldwide’s technology-enabled business ecosystem. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting original research in areas such as machine learning and pattern recognition, analyzing large data sets, and applying statistical methods to derive insights and improve model performance. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into AI solutions, prototyping and testing new approaches, and documenting methods and findings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Artificial Intelligence Researcher will also stay current with academic and industry developments in AI and data science and contribute to publications, presentations, or internal knowledge sharing. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tirana.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Data Science, with the ability to design and implement scalable AI solutions.
• Expertise in Pattern Recognition and Statistics to build, evaluate, and refine machine learning models.
• Demonstrated research skills, including formulating hypotheses, designing experiments, and communicating results clearly.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch).
• Experience working with large datasets, data preprocessing, and model deployment in production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and rigorous approach to validation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams and present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field preferred; relevant industry or research experience is highly valued.
