Job Overview
In the role of Senior Platform Engineer, you will contribute significantly to the development, automation, and expansion of a secure, stable, and high-performance cloud platform. In close cooperation with developers, architects, and internal as well as external stakeholders, you will drive DevOps and platform engineering efforts with emphasis on automation, cloud infrastructure, security, and platform dependability, mainly in Microsoft Azure.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Create and put into practice DevOps strategies centered on automation, scalability, and dependable operations.
- Plan, improve, and automate infrastructure and platform services through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Oversee, administer, and enhance cloud infrastructure, with the main focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Maintain alignment with cloud security requirements, governance rules, and recognized industry standards.
- Architect, introduce, and sustain monitoring and observability solutions with tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Continuously strengthen platform architecture, security, speed, resilience, and uptime.
- Build, design, and refine CI/CD pipelines to support dependable and automated software releases.
- Roll out and manage applications with ArgoCD and handle administration of Kubernetes clusters.
- Embed security best practices across the full software development lifecycle through DevSecOps.
- Work in close partnership with developers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver platform enhancements.
- Assist with incident handling and crisis resolution while keeping a solution-focused mindset during production disruptions.
- Take part in post-incident evaluations, capture lessons learned, and support ongoing improvement actions.
- Guide junior DevOps engineers, review code, and encourage strong engineering standards throughout the team.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related technical field.
- At least 5 years of background in Software Development, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Technical Support, or IT Operations.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with strong preference for deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
- Practical experience in containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong command of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or comparable technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code tools, especially Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong understanding of Git and contemporary version control methods.
- Sound knowledge of networking concepts, cloud infrastructure, cloud security, and infrastructure security principles.
- Strong abilities in troubleshooting, monitoring, and log analysis.
- Capacity to coordinate incident resolution and make effective decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Very good spoken and written English skills.
