STAR7 Albania seeks a skilled and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer:
- Develop, maintain, and expand infrastructure on Azure for production machine translation portals, LLM APIs, and backend services.
- Create and run Docker-based containerized services, keeping development, staging, and production environments consistent.
- Take full ownership of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, covering merging, building, testing, deployment, rollback, and release coordination.
- Deploy and manage FastAPI backend services and Vue.js frontends, handling configuration, scaling, and runtime monitoring.
- Set up and maintain Traefik as the reverse proxy layer, including routing rules, SSL/TLS certificates, service discovery, and traffic policies.
- Manage Keycloak to provide authentication, authorization, identity federation, and SSO for both internal and customer-facing services.
- Run production MySQL systems, overseeing schemas, backups, replication, performance optimization, and recovery procedures.
- Introduce infrastructure-as-code and standardized environments so deployments can be reproduced and audited.
- Establish platform observability through Grafana, centralized logging, and metrics pipelines.
- Improve the platform’s reliability, security posture, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Oversee secrets and API credentials while securing communication between services.
- Work alongside ML/NLP engineers to deploy inference services, model APIs, and GPU-backed workloads.
- Improve cloud resource efficiency and reduce operational costs across environments.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents involving deployments, networking, performance, and infrastructure layers.
Qualifications
Skills required for the DevOps Engineer:
- Extensive production experience using Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Linux system administration, and Azure.
- Practical experience deploying and running FastAPI services and Vue.js applications.
- Sound operational knowledge of Traefik, Keycloak, and MySQL in production settings.
- Experience working with Grafana, observability stacks, and centralized logging systems.
- Experience applying container orchestration and service scaling patterns.
- A firm foundation in networking, reverse proxies, SSL/TLS, and API gateways.
- Working familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools.
- A demonstrated record of managing production environments and release pipelines for live services.
- A thorough understanding of security best practices for APIs and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure, inference services, or GPU workloads would be an advantage.
- Experience with localization, translation technologies, or language services would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of data lakes.
