Position Summary
Spaxel is looking for a Project Designer to support one of its third-party client accounts. This position plays an important design leadership function by turning the Creative Director's vision into carefully developed and well-executed interiors across different project categories. In close cooperation with leadership, the role manages daily design development from the initial concept stage through client approval. The successful candidate is expected to shape the design story within an established creative framework while making sure design choices reflect aesthetics, functionality, budget considerations, and client priorities. The position connects concept development with execution, safeguarding the integrity of the design while moving projects forward in an efficient and collaborative way.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide concept creation, spatial planning, and design delivery for assigned projects in line with the approved creative direction.
- Prepare space plans, furniture arrangements, and visual presentations that communicate the project vision clearly.
- Produce mood boards, material palettes, and design narratives that match client objectives and approved budgets.
- Supervise the development of design presentations to ensure they are clear, refined, and aligned with brand standards.
- Lead design meetings and presentations with clients after the creative direction has been defined.
- Explain design logic, intent, and recommendations clearly to clients and other project stakeholders.
- Review and integrate client feedback while maintaining the approved design concept.
- Coordinate design direction with outside teams such as architects, engineers, and contractors when required.
- Work closely with procurement and specialist teams so that finishes, materials, and furnishings remain consistent with the intended design.
- Contribute design guidance during Value Engineering (VE) discussions to help protect quality while staying within budget.
- Keep up to date with new design trends and innovations relevant to core markets, including multifamily and affordable housing.
Qualifications & Skills
Must Have
- English communication skills in both written and spoken form are required at C1 or C2 level of proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or studies currently being finalized.
- Strong abilities in concept development, spatial thinking, and design execution.
- Advanced knowledge of color, materiality, and composition.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with capacity to handle several tasks and projects at the same time.
- A leadership-oriented mindset combined with a collaborative and mentorship-focused approach.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and presentation software, including SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to balance creative goals with project limitations, budgets, and delivery schedules.
