Job Summary
The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Part-Time Intensive English Teacher to assist students who are building their English-language abilities.
Working in close partnership with the Intensive English Teacher, the Teacher Assistant will offer academic and classroom assistance. This support will help students improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities. The successful candidate will be patient, encouraging, well-organised, and at ease working with students from a range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Intensive English Teacher in providing English instruction and conducting classroom activities.
- Give one-to-one and small-group assistance to students needing extra support with English.
- Help students build speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills.
- Assist learners with classroom tasks and educational activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
- Strengthen the lessons and concepts presented by the Intensive English Teacher.
- Help the teacher track student progress and recognise areas requiring further support.
- Assist in sustaining a positive, inclusive, and effectively organised learning setting.
- Motivate students to use English with confidence.
- Work productively with teachers, administrators, and other staff.
- Carry out additional student-support responsibilities when assigned.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in English Language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous work experience with school-aged children is preferred.
- Excellent spoken and written command of English.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
- Capacity to support students effectively both individually and in small groups.
- Patience, responsibility, a supportive approach, and enthusiasm for working with children.
- Ability to collaborate as part of an international school team.
