Job Description: Creator Content Researcher / Editor
Role Creator Content Researcher / Editor
Location Remote
Contract Full-time, including a probation period
Language Exceptional English proficiency is required.
Creators Work with some of the world’s largest creators; further information will be shared during a call. Compensation Determined by experience and discussed separately.
About the role
We are looking for an in-house specialist who thoroughly understands the creators we partner with, ensuring every edited clip feels as though it was made by a genuine viewer.
Our team works with major creators and turns their long-form videos—typically 30 to 50 minutes—into clips tailored to viewing habits on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat and X. A clip’s success often depends on recognising the right moment, whether that is a recurring joke, a callback, or an opinion the audience has been anticipating.
You will become deeply familiar with each creator’s universe, including their themes, viewers, recurring content and audience requests. You will identify the strongest moments for clips and determine how they should be edited for each platform.
Video-editing skills are an advantage. The ideal candidate is an editor interested in developing deep expertise in content and creators.
What you’ll do
- Develop expert knowledge of creators. Review their existing catalogue and all new uploads, maintaining an evolving profile covering themes, voice, recurring elements, in-jokes, catchphrases, collaborators, topics to avoid and audience reactions.
- Identify clip-worthy moments. Review every new long-form video and provide timestamped clip recommendations, briefly explaining why each should perform well and which platform fits it best.
- Guide the editing process. Specify each clip’s start and end points, the hook needed within its first 2 seconds, any added context required—such as captions, on-screen text or a cold open—and platform-specific differences.
- Create the packaging. Produce hooks, on-screen copy, captions and titles that reflect the creator’s and fans’ voice rather than that of a brand account.
- Monitor formats. Follow current performance patterns across platforms, including video lengths, hook approaches, caption styles, trends and sounds, and highlight changes before they appear in internal results.
- Analyse comments. Use comments and fan communities to understand what audiences want more of, then feed those insights into clip selections.
- Use performance insights. Assess clip results weekly, recognise creator- and platform-specific patterns, and refine the playbook accordingly.
- Edit where applicable. Independently turn rough selections into platform-ready clip exports.
Who you are
- You are immersed in short-form content. You can articulate why one clip reached 5 million views while a very similar clip received 50k.
- You understand the distinct approaches that succeed on TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Snapchat, and stay current as they evolve.
- You can review a 45-minute video, select the 5 to 10 moments most likely to spread, and make accurate choices more often than not.
- You become deeply invested in subjects. Once you start following a creator, you learn their lore, in-jokes and audience in detail.
- You write with precision. Creating effective hooks and captions in the appropriate voice comes naturally to you.
- You are organised. You maintain notes and profiles that colleagues can rely on, while meeting turnaround times for new uploads.
- You are confident using metrics: views, retention, watch time and shares. You apply them to improve decisions rather than merely report them.
Bonus points
- You can edit. You are able to use Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut and independently transform a long-form video into a captioned, reframed, vertical clip ready for publishing. An editor seeking to become a content expert is particularly well suited to this role.
- You are already a fan. Familiarity with creators on the roster, or similar creators, is valuable because understanding a community from within is difficult to teach.
- You have previous clipping experience. This may come from a clipping channel, media page, creator team or agency.
- You understand the tools. Experience with clipping and captioning software, as well as platform analytics through YouTube Studio, TikTok and Meta insights, is beneficial.
- You have grown an audience. Experience building your own page, fan account or channel, supported by results, is an advantage.
