Your new role
NFON is seeking a Solution Architect (all genders) to contribute to the development of its cloud-based business telephony platform. The position sits within an open and agile team environment where technical know-how and new ideas are valued, and it offers ownership of impactful initiatives in a fast-changing industry.
In this role, you will turn business needs and strategic goals into solutions that are technically viable, scalable, and sustainable over time. The position works across several systems and teams, with responsibility for maintaining architectural alignment, validating technical feasibility, and helping deliver complex projects successfully.
The work you‘ll do
- Create, structure, and steer scalable solutions that span multiple functions for the cloud telephony platform, including defining system ownership, boundaries, interactions, and delivery methods.
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify objectives, requirements, limitations, and strategic priorities while preserving architectural alignment across the platform.
- Detect technical risks, open questions, and dependencies, and use prototypes or feasibility assessments when needed.
- Break initiatives into work packages and contribute to effort estimates, roadmap timing, milestone planning, and technical choices.
- Serve as the technical lead during implementation by coordinating stakeholders and helping teams address architecture-related issues.
- Keep solutions maintainable and scalable while supporting the long-term development and modernization of the platform.
- Contribute to strategic engineering work by advancing architectural enhancements, technical modernization, and durable long-range solutions.
The qualifications you need
- A solid technical background, preferably supported by practical experience as a software developer.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture and system integration.
- Knowledge of internet-based voice communication systems and telephony protocols is considered an advantage, such as cloud-based telephony and digital voice technologies.
- Experience in agile settings, together with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset; prior work as a Product Owner is an added benefit.
- Very good communication and teamwork abilities, with ease in handling both technical and non-technical conversations across teams.
- A well-organized and proactive way of working, along with real interest in solving different kinds of challenges.
- Experience with project management and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence, or comparable platforms.
- Fluency in English; German is beneficial but not required.
