Business Loan Advisor

Reports to: Head of Business Loan Sales
Department: Commercial

Role Purpose

The Business Loan Advisor acquires and manages micro and small business customers, supporting sustainable portfolio growth.

The role manages the full lending cycle, from prospecting and application processing to disbursement, relationship management, and portfolio monitoring.

The role delivers commercial targets in line with iute's Business Loan standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

A. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management

• Acquire new Business Loan customers through prospecting, field activities, referrals, partners, and local networks.
• Maintain an active pipeline, follow up with customers, and identify further financing needs.
• Understand each customer's business and recommend suitable loan solutions.
• Build long-term relationships and serve as the main contact for assigned customers.
• Keep customer and business information up to date.

B. Business Loan Application Processing

• Manage Business Loan applications from initial contact to decision and disbursement.
• Assess initial eligibility and financing needs.
• Collect and verify all required customer, business, financial, and supporting documents.
• Submit complete, accurate, and properly documented applications.
• Coordinate internal approval and disbursement activities.

C. Field Verification & Site Visits

• Conduct required customer and business site visits.
• Validate customer information and assess the business model, operating conditions, financing needs, and repayment capacity.
• Identify and escalate inconsistencies or risks.

D. Loan File Ownership & Documentation Quality

• Own the completeness and quality of assigned customer and loan files.
• Ensure all required documents, checks, and supporting information are properly recorded.

E. Portfolio Management & Quality

• Manage and monitor the assigned loan portfolio.
• Maintain regular customer contact and monitor repayment capacity.
• Identify early warning signs of performance deterioration.

F. Target & KPI Achievement

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual Business Loan targets.
• Track individual performance and pipeline against targets.

Compliance & Working Standards

• Follow iute policies, business loan procedures, approval limits, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure accurate system records, data confidentiality, and timely reporting.
• Cooperate with Credit, Operations, Risk, Collection, and other relevant teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant experience in banking, microfinance, SME lending, financial services, B2B sales, or a similar role preferred.
• Business customer experience is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret basic business and financial information.
• Willingness to conduct regular customer and business site visits.
