Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive, highly technical, and hands-on Senior IT Systems & Network Specialist to own, secure, and optimize our entire IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be the primary technical owner of our internal operations: setting up and hardening servers, managing corporate networks, implementing strict remote access controls, maintaining our domain/Cloudflare portfolio, and optimizing our Microsoft 365 licensing costs.
This is a hands-on execution role tailored for an engineer who thrives in dynamic, high-security environments and takes full ownership from bare-metal setup to provider negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Deployment & Hardening: Deploy, configure, and maintain bare-metal and virtual servers (Linux and Windows environments). Implement strict OS hardening, patch management, baseline security benchmarks, and automated backup routines.
- Network, Wi-Fi & Access Control: Design, configure, and manage enterprise-grade office Wi-Fi and local networks. Implement network segmentation (VLANs), SSID access controls, and IP/MAC-based whitelisting policies.
- Remote Access & VPN Architecture: Set up, maintain, and monitor secure Remote Desktop (RDS/RDP) environments and site-to-site / client-to-site VPN solutions with multi-factor authentication (MFA) and granular role-based access.
- Edge & Domain Management (Cloudflare/DNS): Oversee domain registrations, NS delegations, and active DNS records. Configure and maintain Cloudflare services including WAF, Page Rules, SSL/TLS, and DDoS mitigation.
- M365 & Cost Optimization: Administer Microsoft 365 tenants end-to-end (Exchange, Entra ID, SharePoint). Actively audit, manage, and optimize SaaS/M365 subscription costs, removing inactive licenses and enforcing cost efficiency.
- Email Security & Deliverability: Manage corporate email infrastructure and implement modern email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to prevent spoofing and ensure high deliverability.
- Firewall & Provider Relations: Manage edge firewalls, inspect traffic, and configure port forwarding and ingress/egress rules. Act as the primary technical point of contact for ISPs, hosting providers, and hardware vendors.
- Security & Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular internal security health checks, identify vulnerabilities, handle incident triage, and maintain clear IT operational documentation.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration, network engineering, or infrastructure management. Experience working in high-security, fast-paced environments (Fintech, Crypto/Web3, or SaaS) is strongly preferred.
- System Administration: Proven experience deploying and maintaining both Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) and Windows Server environments from scratch, including security hardening.
- Networking & Firewalls: Deep working knowledge of enterprise firewalls, routing, switching, VLAN segmentation, Wi-Fi access management, and VPN protocols (OpenVPN, WireGuard, IPsec).
- Domain & DNS Architecture: Practical expertise managing DNS registries, Nameservers, and advanced Cloudflare configurations (DNS, WAF, proxying, rulesets).
- Microsoft 365 Expertise: Strong administrative experience across Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, and tenant-level license management with a focus on cost reduction.
- Mail Protocol Standards: Solid understanding of mail routing and security standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX records).
- Soft Skills & Ownership: High sense of ownership, capable of operating independently without day-to-day micromanagement, with clear communication skills in English.
