Position purpose
This scheduler/trading assistant specialist role serves as the link between short-term power traders and Grid Operators, while contributing to power-trading activities.
Key responsibilities
- Examine publications on structural changes in European energy markets, gather commodity-market economic, fundamental, and financial data, carry out sector or statistical market analyses, and convert essential market data into actionable business insights.
- Prepare operational and management reports.
- Supply the Trading Department with technical and historical context so it can address regulatory requests to modify or.
- Analyse data related to all technical-information queries in trading.
- Participate in short-term physical electricity scheduling across European markets.
- Serve as the connection between Ayen Trading and European Grid Operators for:
- Submitting bids to acquire transmission capacity.
- Nominating positions in countries together with trading counterparts.
- Nominating cross-border flows to the relevant Grids.
- Making sure positions shown in bespoke scheduling systems match actual trading-desk market activity, including captured trades and transmission schedules for nominated physical flows.
- Know each Grid Operator’s requirements for nomination-file formats and deadlines across the different nomination categories.
- Respond rapidly to Grid Operator information in order to prevent or reduce expensive “imbalances.”
Qualifications
Required experience
- Prior experience in a scheduling position; or
- A background in commodities or energy.
Technical requirements
- Familiarity with the electricity-transmission system and interconnections among European grids will be considered an advantage during evaluation.
- Knowledge of at least one European Language is preferred.

- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, business, or engineering.
- Outstanding analytical abilities, including the capacity to understand, isolate, and resolve issues quickly.
- Capacity to perform and react promptly in a high-pressure, high-stress environment and role.
