Since 1999, SOS Children’s Villages has operated as a non-governmental social development organization working in Children’s Rights. It addresses children's needs and concerns by providing those without parental care, or at risk of losing it, with a secure home and a strong foundation for independent living.
YouthCan Connect runs for 36 months with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and SOS Children's Villages Worldwide. It seeks to advance the socio-economic inclusion of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people by developing their employability, digital and life skills, strengthening psychosocial resilience, and improving access to sustainable employment. Through close collaboration with public institutions, private-sector employers, vocational education providers and civil society organizations, the project develops innovative routes from education into decent work and reinforces local youth employment and inclusion systems.
