About the role
This position is part of a company-wide effort to improve how business-to-business contracts are prepared, negotiated, and administered. A new contract lifecycle management solution and quote configuration software will be implemented and connected with the existing customer relationship management system over an approximately two-year programme spanning multiple commercial functions.
In the role of Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the technical blueprint of the initiative. This includes determining how the systems integrate, how information moves across them, and how business workflows are converted into functional software solutions.
What you will do
- Create the end-to-end solution design, defining how the contract management platform, quote configuration tool, and customer relationship management system integrate and exchange data.
- Evaluate the standard connectors available between these platforms, determine their capabilities and limitations, and design solutions for any gaps.
- Convert business needs from commercial teams into a technical design that stakeholders can understand and validate.
- Establish the data model, integration touchpoints, interfaces, and the build order required for the components.
- Examine vendor proposals and technical materials carefully, questioning assumptions when the proposed design is not sufficiently robust.
- Detect technical dependencies at an early stage and communicate their effect on timelines in a way that non-technical stakeholders can follow.
- Define standards for configuration, templates, approval logic, and pricing structures, and ensure that implementation aligns with them.
- Support developers and consultants in following the design throughout development, testing, and go-live.
- Prepare architectural documentation so the solution remains clear and usable after handover.
What you bring
- Multiple years of background as a solution architect, technical consultant, or lead analyst working on enterprise system implementations.
- Hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management software, quote configuration tools, or a similar enterprise platform.
- Strong knowledge of customer relationship management systems and of how integrations between business platforms perform in live production environments.
- The ability to review a vendor’s product roadmap and assess whether it strengthens or weakens the intended design.
- Experience designing solutions across several business domains simultaneously, especially where requirements may conflict and decisions are needed.
- Strong English communication skills, both for collaborating with developers and for explaining matters to business stakeholders who are not system-focused.
- German is considered an advantage, but it is not mandatory.
What success looks like after six months
- A clearly documented target architecture accepted by the business, the vendor, and the internal technology team.
- Integration dependencies identified early, properly understood, and incorporated into the delivery plan.
- Development teams able to work directly from your design without having to reinterpret it.
What we offer
- Full responsibility for design within a major, long-term transformation programme.
- Direct interaction with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers.
- Hybrid work arrangements and an international team operating in English.
