Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior Demand Generation Manager!
This opportunity is suited to someone with a strong interest in telecoms who performs well in a fast-moving and innovative setting. Babble is working to become its customers’ most trusted advisor for cloud-based technologies and is seeking a capable professional to strengthen its team.
In this position, the successful candidate will lead Babble’s move away from occasional, stand-alone campaigns toward a structured and continuous demand generation model. The role focuses on how the business executes across both existing accounts and new logo acquisition, while also improving that approach over time.
This is a senior player-coach position that combines hands-on execution with team development. The person in post should bring current and credible practical experience in modern B2B demand generation, including personally creating and running campaigns, while also being able to guide others to the same level rather than supervising from a distance.
The Demand Performance Manager, who reports into this position, owns the signal-to-play engine that identifies which accounts to target, which signals to use, and when to act. This role is responsible for determining how those plays are executed by designing, launching, and refining them, while also building the discipline needed to replace isolated campaigns and events with a repeatable operating model.
For Babble, new logo acquisition is still an emerging area. While the supporting foundations, including the new logo playbook and HubSpot deployment, are being developed elsewhere, this role is expected to make that framework effective in day-to-day practice by running the plays and lifting performance over time.
The role also partners closely with the Head of Content to ensure that high-quality content is planned and packaged from the beginning as a demand asset, rather than being added into a play later. The content function does not report into this role.
This position represents a clear increase in seniority. The Demand Performance Manager reports to this role, and the post is intentionally designed as a development step toward a future Marketing Director position. Relevant hands-on player-coach experience is considered more important than previous senior titles.
Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Lead and keep refining Babble’s demand plays across account tiers through direct hands-on involvement as a practitioner rather than operating only at a high level.
- Continue to optimise demand plays across account tiers over time while remaining practically involved instead of personally filling gaps as a substitute for process improvement.
- Take ownership of how Babble executes once the Demand Performance Manager’s signal-to-play system has identified the right place and time to act, converting signals into consistently well-sequenced and well-executed plays.
- Replace one-off campaigns and isolated events with a structured and repeatable demand model, even when there is pressure to respond quickly with ad hoc activity.
- Lead execution of the new logo motion once the playbook and HubSpot implementation are available, with responsibility for running, refining, and improving it rather than building the underlying infrastructure.
- Work in close partnership with the Head of Content so that strong content is conceived and packaged as a demand asset from the start, treating content as part of the campaign approach rather than something added afterwards.
- Oversee the Demand Performance Manager and the broader demand execution team on a daily basis, establishing standards and priorities across a distributed team.
- Own performance reporting for demand and campaigns, collaborating with RevOps to ensure measurement remains accurate and useful.
Core Competencies:
- Up-to-date and authentic practitioner experience, with direct involvement in building and running modern B2B demand campaigns rather than only overseeing them remotely.
- A player-coach approach, with equal ease in strengthening the capabilities of others and applying personal expertise directly.
- Confidence in owning execution quality based on another person’s targeting logic rather than relying solely on self-originated campaign ideas.
- A structural mindset focused on building repeatable systems instead of defaulting to one-off activities.
- Comfort in taking over and operating a system designed by others, then making it successful in practical conditions.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to treat content as an input into campaigns rather than merely borrowing it from another team.
- Proven people leadership, including the capability to manage a manager and not only individual contributors.
- Commercial and analytical understanding, with the ability to interpret performance data and adjust direction rather than simply reporting figures.
Key Performance Indicators
- Net GP contribution from base health and growth motion (O1) — target to be confirmed.
- New logo pipeline volume and velocity (O2) — target to be set following CRO/Finance session.
- The share of demand activity delivered through structured, repeatable plays compared with one-off or ad hoc work.
- The proportion of major content assets that are turned into an active demand play within the agreed publication window.
- Clear improvement over time in the wider team’s ability to execute effectively.
- Churn-risk accounts identified and engaged within the agreed intervention window.
Qualifications
- Solid hands-on experience leading modern, signal-led B2B demand generation, rather than managing campaigns only from a distance.
- Practical experience with tiered, automation-led programmes, including fully automated always-on sequences for high-volume and low-touch segments, semi-automated sequences that combine email, LinkedIn, and sales alerts for mid-tier accounts, and bespoke account-based programmes for high-value strategic accounts.
- Working fluency in lead and account scoring together with next-best-action logic, including the ability to interpret outputs such as health scores, intent signals, and propensity-to-buy indicators in order to decide the next step, even without building the model personally.
- Real account-based marketing (ABM) experience, including management of coordinated multi-channel programmes such as targeted LinkedIn activity, retargeting, and bespoke content for named strategic accounts rather than scaled volume campaigns alone.
- Confidence in delivering personalisation at scale by using signal and segment data to tailor sequences and content by account tier instead of deploying a single campaign version for all audiences.
- Practical familiarity with a marketing automation platform such as HubSpot or an equivalent tool, along with CRM-integrated alerting such as Salesforce or a comparable system, sufficient to direct, troubleshoot, and improve day-to-day platform performance.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop other demand marketers to a consistently strong standard.
- Experience managing either a manager or a multi-layer team, ideally one distributed across different locations and time zones.
- A proven record of transforming ad hoc marketing activity into structured and repeatable programmes.
- Relevant player-coach background is valued more highly than formal seniority or previous job titles, so candidates without a Head of or Director title but with the appropriate practical experience should still be given serious consideration.
