LS Global focuses on improving business operations internationally through specialized outsourcing services. For one of its clients, the company is hiring a Manager Account. Product Margin. This senior-level position oversees accounting activities tied to inventory and product margin, directs month-end closing processes, and supports accurate financial reporting across several sales channels. The person in this role will also take a leading part in spotting margin patterns, strengthening internal controls, and working with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct accounting work related to inventory, product margin, cost of goods sold, and revenue recognition so that financial reporting remains accurate.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities connected to inventory and gross margin, including reconciliations, journal postings, analysis, and reporting.
- Create, apply, and maintain inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices to preserve stock accuracy across stores, distribution centers, eCommerce, and other sales channels.
- Review inventory movements and balances to detect inconsistencies, identify underlying causes, and put corrective measures in place to reduce future variances.
- Supervise and assess store register reconciliations together with related cash and sales balancing tasks, making sure discrepancies are examined and resolved on time.
- Confirm that all sales, inventory, and costing entries are recorded correctly and reconciled with supporting systems and subledgers.
- Retain responsibility for inventory costing methods and ensure costing principles are applied properly within financial systems.
- Organize and oversee physical stock counts and cycle count programs in cooperation with third-party inventory providers and internal teams.
- Examine inventory shrink, product margin results, and operational trends, and provide recommendations aimed at improving profitability and inventory precision.
- Work closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, and IT teams to address inventory-related issues and support strategic projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with strong emphasis on inventory accounting, product margin analysis, or retail finance in a multi-location setting.
- Proven background in leading month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting related to inventory and COGS.
- Solid understanding of inventory control methods, coordination of physical counts, and audit procedures.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data modeling, and pivots, along with experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, and retail POS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop accounting teams while encouraging accountability and professional development.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to recognize operational trends, investigate variances, and improve processes.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, work within tight deadlines, and sustain accuracy in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Excellent communication skills with English C1 proficiency.
