Financial Controller
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Take an active role in checking and confirming AP invoices so that coding, approvals, and internal control compliance are properly maintained.
- Examine and record accruals for missing invoices and operational costs to keep financial records complete and correct.
- Oversee and track prepayments, deferrals, and adjustments during the closing process.
- Compile and supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Make sure reporting to senior management, stakeholders, and external parties is delivered accurately and within required timelines.
- Contribute to finance process improvement efforts, including automating recurring activities and improving reporting cycles.
- Work closely with technology and operations teams to simplify workflows and strengthen financial controls.
- Assist budgeting and reforecasting activities in coordination with department heads and asset managers.
- Offer direction, training, and support to junior members of the finance team.
- Perform variance analysis against budgets and prior periods to identify business patterns or operational issues.
- Prepare and present ad-hoc financial reports and performance analysis that support strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s or CPA is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Management.
- Strong command of accounting software’s and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership background in managing and developing finance teams.
- Practical experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Thorough understanding of financial regulations and compliance obligations.
- Very good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work within deadlines.
- Experience with financial audits and tax compliance.
- Dedication to ongoing process improvement.
