Job Description: Economist
The Economist is responsible for managing and processing the company’s financial data, ensuring accuracy, compliance with applicable legislation, and proper financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record all sales and purchase invoices in the accounting and inventory systems.
- Manage and monitor the incoming and outgoing movement of goods in the warehouse.
- Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of warehouse documentation related to incoming and outgoing goods, including invoices, delivery orders, requisition forms, and other supporting documents.
- Maintain warehouse inventory records and perform regular warehouse–finance reconciliations.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Oversee the receipt and proper handover of goods, ensuring accurate warehouse records.
- Record cash transactions and maintain the daily cash register, including cash inflows, outflows, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the Finance/Accounting department on warehouse, inventory, invoice, and cash-related matters.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Very good knowledge of Financa 5 software.
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Knowledge and experience in preparing and recording sales and purchase invoices.
- Good knowledge and experience in cash management, including cash inflows, outflows, and reconciliations
- High level of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail.
