LS Global provides outsourcing services aimed at improving business operations across global markets. The company is hiring on behalf of one of its clients for the role of Credit and Collections Specialist. In this position, the selected candidate will assess customers’ credit reliability and oversee credit accounts in order to reduce financial exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess each customer’s credit background and make risk-related decisions in line with the customer’s financial standing and the company’s credit policy.
- Examine current accounts for credit limit increases or decreases, place holds when needed, and provide support to customers.
- Input, update, and manage data used to establish open-term accounts and administer existing customer credit limits.
- Review different sources of information, including customer credit applications, business credit reports, and credit references, to determine suitable credit limits.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to confirm that credit limits are properly assigned and that overdue customers are contacted.
- Handle outgoing collection calls and respond to incoming calls from customers.
- Manage delinquent accounts and negotiate with customers in a way that helps preserve strong ongoing business relationships.
- Apply effective and professional communication skills to settle customer disputes and support collection efforts.
- Cooperate closely with Accounts Receivable to reconcile accounts and improve the efficiency of the collection workflow.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or comparable experience in accounting and finance.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a credit and collections setting is considered an advantage.
- Strong customer service approach, excellent phone, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision are required.
- Familiarity with relevant governing regulations.
- Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
