Dispatcher/Chauffeur
The U.S. Mission in Pristina is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Dispatcher/Chauffeur position in the General Services Office (GSO).
Responsibilities
- Receives work assignments from the Motor Pool Supervisor to transport State and/or other Agency personnel or cargo, as one of several motor pool chauffeurs
- Operates Embassy vehicles in the transportation of official visitors in support of U.S. Government official activities
- Assumes duty driver responsibility on a rotational basis; may be required to make trips that require out-of-town stays
- Maintains vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition, including cleaning the interior and exterior
- Performs basic vehicle inspection in accordance with established schedules and policies
- Prepares trip reports, vehicle use and fuel logs; estimates fuel consumption for trips
- Safeguards U.S. Government property and uses resources efficiently, including fuel-efficient operation of vehicles
- May drive armored vehicles, as needed
- Coordinates among users and drivers to meet requests and ensure efficient operations; handles emergency transportation requests as needed
- Arranges work shifts, shuttle and other official trip schedules to meet all transportation needs
- Serves as team leader providing guidance and direction to chauffeurs on vehicle operations, safety measures, and transporting VIPs
- Ensures drivers' appearance is presentable and vehicles are clean and in good operational condition
- Serves as back-up to the Motor Pool Supervisor as needed
- Analyzes fuel usage and vehicle maintenance data, periodically inspects vehicles, and develops vehicle rotation plans for efficient fleet utilization
- Prepares periodic reports on trip scheduling, chauffeurs' shift work and performance
- Prepares monthly bills to subscriber agencies
- Assists with motor pool inventory and barcoding
- Coordinates with repair facilities to send vehicles for routine maintenance

- Salary: EUR €18,576 per year

- Education: Completion of secondary school is required
- Experience: At least three years of professional driving experience is required
- Language: English – Level 3 (good knowledge; speaking, reading & writing – will be tested); Albanian – Level 3 (good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing)
- Job Knowledge: Good knowledge of host country traffic laws, vehicle licensing, registration, and procedures; detailed knowledge of host country streets, traffic patterns, and commonly visited locations
- Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership, technical, and administrative skills; basic keyboard skills and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to read maps and plan driving routes; good verbal communication skills with professionalism and discretion; ability to perform basic vehicle inspection and intermediate-level automotive maintenance; basic computer skills for reports and communication
- Must hold a valid driver's license and must have held one for a minimum of five (5) years
