Role Overview
This position focuses on building and sustaining complete reporting and analytics solutions, turning raw information into dependable insights that are ready for business use.
The role covers the full BI process, using Python for preparing and ingesting data, SQL for core transformation work and data modeling, and Excel Power Query, DAX, and Power BI for analytical models, KPI creation, and reporting.
By working in close coordination with business stakeholders, the Business Intelligence Analyst helps maintain data accuracy, converts business needs into scalable solutions, and provides structured analysis that supports daily operations as well as strategic decisions.
- Key Responsibilities
Data Ingestion & Preparation
- Clean, standardize, verify, and prepare raw data from different sources such as files and databases by using Python.
- Carry out deduplication, enrichment, and structural changes before data is loaded.
- Upload and maintain processed datasets in the data warehouse.
Data Transformation & Modelling
- Create and maintain SQL-driven transformations, views, and aggregations.
- Implement business rules, classification logic, and KPI calculations within the data layer.
- Improve query performance to ensure scalability and reuse.
- Keep fact and dimension structures clear and consistent to support analytics.
Analytics Layer (Excel, Power Query & DAX)
- Use Excel Power Query to work with and refine datasets.
- Build organized data models with clearly defined relationships and granularity.
- Create advanced DAX measures for KPIs, SLA monitoring, and time-based analysis.
- Make sure business calendars, working hours, and edge cases are handled correctly.
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that support operational and management insights.
- Prepare Excel-based analytical reports when needed.
- Maintain KPI consistency across all reporting platforms.
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis and detailed investigations.
Quality, Governance & Collaboration
- Check data accuracy throughout the full pipeline, from source systems to the reporting layer.
- Document data transformations, calculations, and logic.
- Identify missing data, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement in a proactive way.
- Work together with stakeholders to align requirements and expected outputs.
- Technical Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Python for preparing, transforming, and loading data.
- SQL (essential) for advanced querying, transformation tasks, and optimization.
- Excel Power Query for shaping and preparing data.
- DAX for complex measures and time-based logic.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including facts, dimensions, and grain.
Preferred:
- Power BI for data modeling, dashboards, and visualization.
Analytical & Professional Skills
- Strong analytical mindset with close attention to detail.
- Ability to handle complex datasets coming from multiple sources.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Capacity to manage several priorities in a fast-changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a centralized BI or data warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with large operational datasets such as contact center, sales, or transactional data.
- Experience with KPI frameworks, SLA metrics, and performance reporting.
- Familiarity with data quality controls and validation procedures.
