Job Title: Category Manager

Description:
- The SPAR supermarket and hypermarket chain business began in 1932 and includes more than 13,300 stores in 48 countries. SPAR Albania has been present since 20/06/2016, offering a wide range of products and ranking among market leaders.
- Summary of the position: To develop and implement the strategy for the assigned category; to ensure cost-optimal sourcing through effective negotiations with suppliers; to ensure the company has the right product at the right time to drive sales and revenue.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out market and competition analysis for the products of the category.
- Select and apply strategies for the relevant category based on the company's strategy.
- Product range: study the complete line of a product, be knowledgeable about the product; look for new products that will help increase company revenue; select and list suppliers.
- Control over prices: negotiate optimal product costs with suppliers and ensure the Company has the most competitive prices in the market.
- Prepare and plan product placement on shelves.
- Promotional activities: cooperate with suppliers on promotional activity plans; implement the plan in cooperation with Marketing and Operations departments.
- Prepare a business plan/budget for the respective categories.
- Select and list suppliers.
- Be responsible for sales and profits for the assigned category.
- Negotiate the best conditions for the Company based on contract criteria; develop and implement the supply business plan and set performance targets for suppliers.
- Summarize all contract terms and communicate them to related departments (Finance, Logistics, Marketing).
- Create and maintain positive and stable relationships with all suppliers; act as key contact for suppliers regarding sales.
- Work with sales to ensure product availability, delivery and resolve pricing or other issues.
- Collaborate with Operations and Store Managers to update brands and store needs.
- Prepare and analyze reports to determine sales percentages and make category decisions.
- Be responsible for all documentation and data related to the category.
- Cooperate with other departments such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Logistics, Sales, IT, and Expansion to solve various problems.
- Know and use the operating system effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- University degree, preferably in Business Administration and/or Marketing.
Work Experience:
- Similar work experience in retail sales.
Additional qualifications:
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office package.
- Good knowledge of English; a second language is an advantage (spoken and written).
