E-commerce Front-End Developer

Shero Commerce, a full-service global eCommerce agency, is looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with our design, development, client, and project management teams to bring UI design concepts, wireframes, and mock-ups to life. A creative eye for detail and strong skills in modern, responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are essential.

We work primarily on Shopify and BigCommerce eCommerce platforms. Prior experience on these platforms is a bonus, but not required. What matters most is a solid foundation in web development and some familiarity with eCommerce projects. We will provide full platform training and mentorship.

What we are looking for

Required

  • Strong proficiency in modern, responsive HTML and CSS development, including cross-browser support
  • Some hands-on experience with eCommerce websites (as a developer, contributor, or freelancer)
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented, and standards-compliant code with an eye toward performance
  • Ability to identify issues, errors, and bottlenecks and propose solutions
  • Familiarity with source control workflows using Git
  • Basic knowledge of RESTful API concepts and integration
  • Familiarity with browser developer tools for debugging and profiling
  • Solid understanding of core web fundamentals: the DOM, browser rendering, HTTP, and how CSS layout systems work in practice

Significant bonuses (not required, but good to have)

  • Experience with Shopify or BigCommerce (even personal or freelance projects)
  • CSS frameworks and pre-processors such as Tailwind, SASS, or LESS
  • Familiarity with templating languages such as Liquid or Handlebars
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as ReactJS, NextJS, NodeJS, or VueJS
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and industry-standard design tools such as Figma
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test-driven development, or automated testing
  • Experience with server-side languages such as Python, PHP, Ruby, Java, or .NET
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices, PWA concepts, or headless frontend approaches
  • Familiarity with agile development, Jira, or the Atlassian suite
  • Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, or containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Solid JavaScript skills, including experience with at least one modern framework (React, Vue, or similar)
