Payments Specialist for Payment Operations Department

The Payment Specialist is responsible for supporting the payment operations environment through a comprehensive understanding of banking payment schemes. This includes expertise in SWIFT, KIPS, and other payment systems. Maintain up-to-date procedures in accordance with regulatory and industry developments, guaranteeing compliance and operational efficiency.

Main responsibilities:

• Process payments though back-office application toward other payment systems such as KIPS, ACH RTGS etc
• Ensuring proper formatting, value dates, and fee instructions
• Monitor cut-off times and settlement cycles for timely transaction booking and settlement.
• Reconcile transactions across systems and banks; resolve breaks, rejects, and failed payments.
• Manage payment investigations, recalls, amendments, confirmations, and inquiries within service standards.
• Apply operational controls to prevent errors and fraud, escalating risks as needed.
• Support internal and external stakeholders by addressing payment requests and preparing operational reports as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• University degree in related field with Business, Finance, Business/Administration, Economics, information technology or computer science
• Experience in banking for at least two years, preferably payment operations or payment systems developments
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Very good command of English language (spoken and written)
• Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
• Highly self-motivated and strong customer service orientation
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
