Role Overview:
- PACE is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Railway Procurement Specialist to support procurement and commercial activities across rail projects, ensuring materials, equipment, and PPE are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with company procedures and industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the procurement inbox and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Request, review, and evaluate supplier quotations, and raise purchase orders for materials and equipment.
- Manage supplier relationships, including invoice processing, statement reconciliation, and handling payment-related queries.
- Review PPE requests, obtain internal approvals, place orders, and ensure correct distribution and documentation.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment requirements, request quotations, and maintain up-to-date price comparison records.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and rail industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised procurement records to support audits, reporting, and financial controls.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, or a related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and management.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and suggest efficiency improvements.
