Role Overview:

  • PACE is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Railway Procurement Specialist to support procurement and commercial activities across rail projects, ensuring materials, equipment, and PPE are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with company procedures and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the procurement inbox and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Request, review, and evaluate supplier quotations, and raise purchase orders for materials and equipment.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including invoice processing, statement reconciliation, and handling payment-related queries.
  • Review PPE requests, obtain internal approvals, place orders, and ensure correct distribution and documentation.
  • Conduct regular checks on equipment requirements, request quotations, and maintain up-to-date price comparison records.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and rail industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organised procurement records to support audits, reporting, and financial controls.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and management.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and suggest efficiency improvements.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across departments.
