Job Title: Miscellaneous Iron / Structural Steel Estimator

Description: Structural Steel Renovation, Miscellaneous Iron and Steel Stair Contractor is seeking an Estimator. The office handles new construction projects as well as extensive commercial renovations in New York City high-rise commercial construction. The role requires translating architectural and structural drawings into detailed estimates for material, shop fabrication, and field erection, managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively.

Duties:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and Excel to create precise estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs.

Skills:

• Fluent in English, including reading and writing.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam.
• Solid understanding of construction management principles and practices.
• Experience in cost control methods and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
• Familiarity with project management processes related to construction projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Previous experience on construction sites is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
