Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Technical / Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a hands-on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Technical / Infrastructure Specialist to support and execute an upcoming ERP infrastructure migration project. The role requires practical experience in preparing, migrating, configuring, testing, and supporting Dynamics AX 2009 environments on Windows Server platforms.

Responsibilities:

Connect to and review the existing ERP server environment
Investigate the current Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 installation and infrastructure setup
Analyze current dependencies, configurations, risks, and technical constraints
Plan and execute the migration from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019 or newer
Configure and validate the AX 2009 environment after migration
Work with components such as SQL Server, AOS, .NET Framework, reporting services, integrations, and user permissions
Troubleshoot technical issues during and after the migration
Perform testing and validation to ensure the ERP system works correctly in the new environment
Document the current setup, migration steps, issues found, and final configuration
Collaborate with the internal team and client stakeholders throughout the full migration process

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009
Strong technical and infrastructure background
Experience with Windows Server 2012 / 2019 or newer Windows Server versions
Experience executing server or application migrations
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
Understanding of AX Application Object Server (AOS)
Ability to troubleshoot legacy ERP environments
Ability to identify, document, and resolve migration risks
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the technical execution

Nice to Have:

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics C5
Experience with legacy ERP upgrades or modernization projects
Knowledge of reporting services and integrations around Dynamics AX
Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, and rollback planning
Experience with newer Microsoft Dynamics environments, such as Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
