The Secondary English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality ELA instruction-potentially including Advanced Placement courses-while fostering strong student achievement aligned with the school's mission and standards. This role emphasizes building positive relationships, creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, and knowing students as individual learners. The teacher collaboratively plans coherent, standards-driven learning experiences; designs and implements varied assessments; differentiates instruction to meet diverse needs; and uses technology to enhance learning. Responsibilities also include monitoring and documenting student progress, communicating regularly with students and families, contributing to extracurricular programs, and engaging in ongoing professional growth as a reflective practitioner and collaborative team member.
