About the role

Borek Solutions Group is seeking a Junior QA Engineer to assist the testing team with quality assurance and test automation in an established project. The system involves a long-evolving Java application made up of a Swing-based desktop solution with 20+ modules in a laboratory environment, together with an Angular-based web frontend. This position offers a strong opportunity to develop within QA while working alongside an experienced team and using modern tools.

Your Role

In the position of Junior QA Engineer, you will help with both manual and automated testing, support the upkeep of test cases, and contribute to the advancement of GUI test automation for desktop and web platforms. You will cooperate closely with developers and the QA team to maintain software quality and support the ongoing improvement of the testing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with carrying out manual and automated tests
• Help prepare and maintain test cases
• Contribute to GUI test automation for Desktop & Web
• Record test outcomes and identified defects
• Review and follow bugs together with the development team
• Support the ongoing enhancement of the test environment
• Assist with regression testing and the preparation of test data

Your Profile:

• Completed vocational training or another comparable qualification
• Initial hands-on experience in software testing, or a strong interest in building a career in testing
• Basic knowledge in:
  • Software testing, such as test cases and test methods
  • Preferably some initial exposure to test automation, for example Playwright
• Analytical mindset and a structured approach to work
• Team-oriented attitude and very good communication abilities
• German language highly desirable but also only English proficiency C1
