Your Role

In the position of AI Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and rolling out production-ready AI solutions that use advanced machine learning methods and large language models (LLMs) to address practical problems at scale. You will work closely with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver intelligent features, improve model efficiency, and expand the potential of generative AI. This role is central to defining the company’s AI direction and turning modern research into measurable business impact.

Your Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and support ML pipelines and LLM-powered applications from early prototype stages through deployment in production.
• Adapt, optimize prompts for, and assess large language models such as GPT, Claude, Llama, and Mistral for specific domain needs.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, agent-based workflows, and tool-use architectures built around foundation models.
• Establish and maintain dependable evaluation frameworks, including automated benchmarks, human-in-the-loop evaluation, and A/B testing.
• Improve model inference in terms of latency, throughput, and cost by using approaches such as quantization, distillation, and efficient serving methods.
• Work together with data engineers to create and refine high-quality datasets for training and evaluation.
• Keep up with the fast-changing AI/ML field and convert research advances into features ready for production use.
• Participate in drafting technical design documents, conducting architecture reviews, and promoting engineering best practices within the AI team.

Your Profile

• At least 3+ years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering, AI Engineering, or a similar position.
• Strong command of Python and ML frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Practical experience with large language models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RLHF, or development of LLM-based applications.
• Good knowledge of NLP fundamentals, including tokenization, embeddings, attention mechanisms, and transformer architectures.
• Experience with ML infrastructure and tooling, such as experiment tracking with MLflow or W&B, model serving through vLLM, TGI, or Triton, and CI/CD for ML workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using Version Control (Git/GitHub) together with CI/CD practices.
• Bachelor’s in computer science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related quantitative field, Masters degree on AI highly desirable.
• Excellent communication abilities, including the capacity to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• German fluency B2/C1.
