Job Title: Senior System Administrator (Windows Team)
Description: The Senior System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving Microsoft-based infrastructure, with a focus on Directory Services and Windows server environments. The role includes administration of Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint Online, and Azure resources, ensuring availability, monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery. The position also involves translating business requirements into secure, scalable technical designs aligned with security and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Directory Services Administration: Responsible for maintenance and continuous improvements of Directory Services, including Active Directory Services, authentication and user profiling.
- Exchange Email System Services: Manage Exchange Email System Services, including Outlook, OWA, and ActiveSync services.
- SharePoint Online Administration: Administer SharePoint Online environments, including site creation, permissions, and troubleshooting.
- Azure Administration: Manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.
- Technology Recommendations: Evaluate and recommend new technologies and architectural improvements to optimize performance, resilience, and cost
- Rights Management Services Administration: Administer Windows Rights Management Services and File Server Services.
- Disaster Recovery: Ensure the continuity and availability of directory services at the Disaster Recovery Center.
- Server Monitoring: Perform server monitoring to ensure all Directory Servers are always healthy and available.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor server utilization and gather trend data for reporting and capacity planning purposes.
- Policy Development: Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation for directory services facilities and ensure their implementation.
- Troubleshooting: Provide second or third-level troubleshooting and maintenance for end-user services accessibility, such as Active Directory account, email, file access, or other issues.
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture designs, ensuring alignment with Security standards, Regulatory requirements, Availability and DR objectives
- Request Follow-up: Follow up on pending requests or projects made by business units or end users
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available solutions across: Windows Server, Active Directory & Identity, Exchange / Microsoft 365 .SharePoint Online, Azure & hybrid environments
- Communication: Effectively communicate relevant practice information to superiors.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Windows, Microsoft System Administrator.
- System Center Configuration Manager: Very good knowledge and hands-on experience with System Center Configuration Manager.
- Active Directory & Exchange: Experience with Active Directory Services, Exchange Server, and Office 365.
- Azure Knowledge: Knowledge of Microsoft Azure products.
- SharePoint Online: Experience with SharePoint Online administration.
- Database & FTP Services: Knowledge of MS SQL Server and FTP Services.
- Backup Solutions: Knowledge with backup solutions like VEEAM, Veritas, or others.
- Networking: Basic understanding of networking and knowledge of network protocols, IPv4, VLANs, DNS, etc.
- Work Flexibility: Ability to work overtime if required.
- Personal Attributes: Honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
- Certifications: Certifications are an asset.
