Overview
The Deputy Chief Information Officer supports the Chief Information Officer in defining and executing the organization’s technology strategy, with a primary focus on business applications, software development, systems integration and enterprise architecture. The role ensures that enterprise technology platforms and software solutions effectively support business growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation objectives.
This role is responsible for ensuring that core platforms, custom software solutions, and system integrations effectively support business operations, scalability, and digital transformation initiatives.
The Deputy CIO acts as a strategic and operational partner to the CIO, while also serving as a delegate when required.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the CIO in implementing IT strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules across the organization.
- Lead the oversight of business-critical systems such as ERP, CRM, HR, finance, retail, supply chain, and other core applications to ensure performance, scalability, and alignment with business priorities.
- Leads and oversees the review, structuring, and negotiation of software vendor contracts, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and long-term scalability objectives.
- Supervise the design, development, implementation, enhancement, and support of custom software solutions and enterprise applications.
- Govern solution architecture practices, ensuring that new systems and changes align with target architecture, security standards, integration principles, and long-term business capability needs.
- Oversee system integrations, APIs, middleware, and data exchange frameworks to ensure reliability, interoperability, and efficient business process automation.
- Contribute to technology investment planning, budgeting, and prioritization, especially for business platforms, application portfolios, and digital initiatives.
- Interact with business leaders to identify opportunities for application modernization, process digitization, and technology-enabled transformation.
- Participate in identifying and evaluating emerging technologies and innovation opportunities.
- Support vendor and partner management for software providers, implementation partners, system integrators, and outsourced development teams.
- Act on behalf of the CIO in meetings, committees, and decision-making processes when delegated.

Requirements
- Master Degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT management or senior technical roles focused on business applications management or software development.
- Proven experience in supporting large-scale IT projects or system integrations.
- Strong experience with system integrations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Professional proficiency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
- Strong organizational, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Strong understanding of business applications, enterprise platforms, software development, systems integration, and solution architecture.
- Ability to lead large-scale application implementations, modernization initiatives, and cross-functional technology programs.
- Strong knowledge of application architecture, enterprise architecture and i**ntegration patterns.
- Experience supporting IT strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with implementation of information technology integrations in a large division/company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with vendor management, procurement processes, and contract oversight.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into operational execution.**
